Bella Faccia Painting has been in business for fourteen years, and we pride ourselves on offering the combination of artistry and entertainment that a discriminating client should expect and definitely deserves. We book only the best artists in their fields, with the personalities that make the event fun and memorable for all ages. We love our jobs and it shows.
How did we get started?
As founder and principal artist of Bella Faccia Painting, LLC, Diane is New Jersey’s and Ohio’s ONLY Certified face and body painter.
Once upon a time, a girl who could not sing was on the make up crew for musicals at her high school. She went on to receive a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Maine where she organized the first annual “24-hour Relay Marathon” for ACS, which later transitioned to the national fund raising event known as “Relay for Life.” Organizing special events, promotion and team management were to become the foundation of two successful but very different careers.
Diane received an MBA in strategic planning from Boston University, prior to working for Merck, America’s Most Admired Corporation for 16-plus years in a variety of positions including sales, marketing and business development. She became a mentor, and was often the “organizer/cheerleader” of recreational activities, for recently relocated personnel and newer employees. She became well-known for delivering executive presentations wearing fashions that matched the style and color of her Power Point slides, providing a subliminal “coordinated” message to her audience.
Never considering that color theory and the enthusiastic planning of events would lead to a second career, Diane started face painting as a hobby with her young children. Previous experience with theatrical makeup served her well as she made up the neighborhood kids as jungle animals and cartoon characters.
Shortly after 9/11, Diane decided to leave the corporate world, realizing that her entrepreneurial spirit, event planning capabilities and make up artistry were no longer a good fit for a pharmaceutical giant, as it entered the most challenging years in its history. Resigning in 2002 to become a full time face and body painter, Diane has never regretted her decision to go “solo.”
Diane is a One-STROKE Certified Instructor (OSCI) and teaches this painting technique to non-artists of any age. She is the founder and Past-President of the No. NJ Face and Body Art Guild whose mission is to raise the quality of face and body art services through continuing education, product knowledge and business training. She has taught at the Face and Body Art International Convention and helped to design the very first children’s face painting curriculum for that convention. She is a Certified face painter in the state of New Jersey and the only one in Ohio, by the International Face Painting Association. In 2016, she moved to Cleveland, and opened a second division of Bella Faccia in northeastern Ohio: Bella Faccia On The Lake. Bella Faccia On the Lake intends to bring full face fantasy artistry and other types of body art to the Northeastern Ohio area.
Diane’s executive business experience, combined with imaginative artistic skills and attention to every detail, makes her uniquely suited to provide discriminating clients with extraordinary entertainment for any corporate or special event.
