and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound? You know how that story goes, right? There’s also a few stories about bears doing “stuff” in the woods, but I am trying to keep this a family-friendly newsletter. More on this later…
I was faced with a similar conundrum when I received my customer satisfaction results for 2019 at the EXACT same time as our country got locked down for COVID -19. All parties cancelled, all special events postponed indefinitely, all kids sent home from school, parents sent home to work (and teach) and no face or body painting. Daily economic and social challenges have become the new normal, along with health fears and of course, the always present politics that seem to color everything.
So I debated, a lot. Who cares if my scores are almost perfect? Who cares if we did better than ever on all parameters? Who cares if we might be the ONLY artistic entertainment company that even does year-over-year tallies of our customer satisfaction surveys? What difference does it make that we have ratings on individual performers, as well as by location? What good is being the BEST, if no one, and I mean no one, can book us, let alone even have a party?
But then I thought back to the purpose of this newsletter…to support contacts, clients and friends with EXPERT party planning and execution tips. No, you can’t host a massive gala, or even a neighborhood block party, but Bella Faccia Painting can and will support your desires for fun, festive entertainment, in the midst of a Pandemic.
And with that, I present the list below of virtual “field trips” that you can go on with your family and friends. I hope you will share this newsletter with them, and use the clickable links. Some of the art museums are really fun, as you can “step into” the art, in a way that you cannot do in person (even if you could get to that location, which you can’t). No one is traveling right now, so why not take a road trip from your big comfy couch?
Check it out down below.
The philosophical question about whether to release our scores for 2019 in both locations (NJ and Ohio) is practically a moot point now. My focus for the next few months is to provide fun and entertainment in this newsletter to keep my readers from going stir crazy. Get ready for our recommended book lists for children and young adults coming in the next issue.
For now, just go to our web site if you want to see our customer satisfaction results for 2019. Take a look around while you are there, and see our pride in what we do. No one can book us right now, but we know you want to! The Customer Satisfaction results for 2019 show that we only get better, year after year. We CANNOT wait until we are able to be at your gatherings again!
Back to the tree? So, does it make a sound? This is a philosophical question that has to do with observation and perception. Is it your interpretation that sound is a physical phenomenon (“compressions and rarefactions in the air which result from the physical disturbances caused by the falling tree”)? If so, then the answer is yes, the falling tree makes a sound.
But if sound is only REAL once it reaches a human ear, thus a perception, then no…no humans…no sound. If you want to read more about this topic, please take a look at the writings of Albert Einstein and more recently, Jim Baggott. Or Click Here.
I miss you, and I miss doing what I do. But in the meantime, I hope some of these fun virtual tours will allow you to “escape” from your current environment. After all, perception is reality.
Please feel free to pass this email along to any other Moms, Dads or even your older children caring for the little ones.
