My phone is not ringing…except with robocalls…and Google my Business scams! Our doors are closed and we are not taking any bookings at this time. Like you, we are closely monitoring the effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Most of the daily news is scary, but I believe that the “shelter in place” protocol is necessary to protect ourselves, our clients and our loved ones. We are practicing social distancing, which for an extroverted band of party entertainers (and “huggers”) is nearly impossible.
What makes it even more difficult is that there seems to be no end in sight. The future is so uncertain. What will the events industry, or even entertainment in general, look like when we emerge on the other side of COVID 19? Will the average citizen be so concerned about safety and hygiene that they will stay inside even when it is not required? Will I need to wear a mask when I face paint to protect myself? EEK!
Will you be having large family gatherings in your home, at party places, in restaurants? Will you be going to fairs, festivals and sporting events as you did last summer? Will you be able to gather together at the gym, the mall, your church? This shutdown is happening right at the beginning of what is normally our busiest season!
You know that phrase “the family that plays together, stays together.” Well, you are together, like it or not. Are you going a little nuts yet? Is your family, with all its necessary togetherness, bringing out the FUN in dysFUNctional? I know I am going a little stir-crazy, and find that I am talking to the dog far more than usual. And the plants, and my shoes. In addition, I am four weeks closer to finding out what my REAL hair color is (and that is truly terrifying!)
When it comes to family fun entertainment, Bella Faccia has 18 years of experience. But we can’t do the work we are known for right now, but I do support you as you stay at home, stay safe, stay healthy. I know that you look to Bella Faccia Painting, not only for our artistic entertainment services, but also for advice, expertise, decorating and crafts, themes, and maybe even a kid’s recipe or two. (Check out my favorite place to get kids’ cooking supplies).

We are all in this together. No matter how scary, isolating, or frustrating it might be. In my goal to serve you at this time (while being unable to gather with you), I will be sending you this newsletter on a weekly basis, and sharing some indoor activities with the links attached. I hope you find it useful.
I miss you, and I miss doing what I do, which has always been the best job in the whole world: doing extreme makeovers on all ages, while spreading joy and fun.
Please feel free to pass this link along to any other Moms, Dads or even your older children caring for the little ones, as an “IDEA Generator” for activities to combat boredom.

Good questions! What will the new normal look like? Will there be standardized hygienic practices dictated to face painters? Will the parties be smaller? What can we do to still help with parties as we wait for all this to pass?
My family is never bored….
Thank you for writing!
